Asheville Earth Day is proud to announce our new partnership with the YMCA of Western
North Carolina’s Healthy Kids Day. Every April communities and Y’s across the nation celebrate
Healthy Kids Day, which is the nation’s largest health day for children and families.
Healthy Kids Day brings children and families from over 10,000 communities together, providing
education, activities and experiences that help teach good health and foster connections
through wellness games, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result, millions of
youth and families achieve greater health and well-being for their spirit, mind and body.
The Y prides itself in building strong kids, strong families and strong communities through
social responsibility, youth development and healthy living.
The mission of Asheville Earth Day and The Y’s Healthy Kids Day is to provide a FREE activity
for people of all ages and backgrounds of the Asheville community, gathering to educate
and celebrate that every person can make a difference for environmental change. And together
we can make a difference globally. This year will be themed around the “Next Generation”,
as we intend to educate and promote to the youth of our community the importance
of a healthy body, mind and planet. |
